Lamb is an instructor at Portland Community College and with Literary Arts' Writers in the Schools program in Portland.
With the help of the Fed's wildly successful Writers in the Schools program and a visionary school principal, Douglas became writer-in-residence at Boularderie Elementary School.
Students from the Writers in the Schools program wrote narratives in reaction to photographs taken by photographer Karen Sachar in Israel, Ethiopia and the Dominican Republic.
