British Schools Karting Championship.
As well as the wide range of opportunities to participate in team and individual sports, such as cricket, netball, football, taekwondo, table tennis and tag rugby, the school has an excellent enrichment programme with a wide range of activities on offer, from competing in the
British Schools Karting Championship, boxing, Zumba and street dance, to craft club, drama, Mandarin Chinese and the BBC news report.
In the race for championship glory BOY racers from a Northumberland school are celebrating after making the regional final of this year's
British Schools Karting Championship. The talented trio from Ponteland High, Year 13 student Dan Barber, Year 12 pupil Chris Harrison and Matty Graham, in Year 11, qualified for the event after succeeding in a tough series of races against teams from 11 other schools at the Warden Law circuit in Sunderland.
Plans are afoot to further extend the programme next term, with four teams of students competing in the
British Schools Karting Championship and more than 60 students set to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Bronze or Silver level.
