Gordon also had separate meetings with the leaders of the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) and the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM).
On December 17, 2004, former Defense Minister Vlado Buckovski was confirmed by parliament as Prime Minister, maintaining the coalition with the ethnic Albanian Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) and the Liberal-Democratic (LDP) parties.
The revote is expected to determine which of the two ethnic Albanian parties (the Democratic Union for Integration and the Democratic Party of Albanians) will join the ruling coalition to be led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski's VMRO-DPMNE party.
