The aim of this study is to investigate if Economic Value Added (EVA) is superior to Net Operating Profit after Tax (NOPAT) and Net Cash Flows (NCF) in explaining the change in Market Value Added (MVA) of the non-financial firms listed on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) for the year 2016.
Economic value added thus tells us that how well the company is utilizing the shareholder's resources and how is the company's overall financial performance.
EVA = economic value added, NOPAT = net operating profit after tax, WACC = weighted average cost of capital, and IC = invested capital.
Thus, it is recommended that in future research should be used from other value based measures such as; EVA, refined economic value added (REVA), cash value added (CVA), Tobin's Q, free cash flow (FCF), cash flow return on investment (CFROI).
This paragraph is dedicated to define a theoretical model concerning the assessment of the value created by the "company visit": for this purpose it is taken as reference in the present model--bypassing the related academic debate on the subject, for the obvious and objective demands of the context the Economic Value Added, (in acronym EVA) (Houle, 2008; Patel et al, 2012).
Big companies like Coca-Cola and SPX use the economic value added as a guide to create value.
The measure of economic value added (EVA) had negative values in the most of the entities analysed.
Successful businesses must be both "eco-efficient" (with the economic value added being proportional to environmental impact) and "socio-efficient" (with the economic value added being proportional to social impact).
Shareholder Value Added Economic Value Added and Market Value Addedare used to know the value creation of the sample companies.
"There are only two ways to generate economic growth: One is demographics and the other is productivity enhancement, and with this framework we cover both dimensions." The portfolio team of three focuses on 300 to 400 stocks and determines which to own from a four-pronged quantitative model, considering companies' return on equity, cash flow, franchise quality and economic value added (EVA).
