The
jamboree is being held in Gdansk from July 27 to August 6, 2020 and the theme is 'Act', designed to encourage participants to think how they can act and make a change.
Tomos Hebden, 15 from Hawarden, who was part of the North Wales Fluffy Dragons unit, said: "The whole event was by far the best experience of my life, but particularly the
Jamboree element of the trip.
The 24thWorld Scout
Jamboree saw more than 45,000 young people in attendance, representing 152 scouting organisations from across the world.
The World Scout
Jamboree which ran from July 23- August 2, was the culmination of two years of work for the leaders, which has involved camps and team building events preparing the young people for living on a humid site in West Virginia amongst Scouts from nearly every country in the world.
Princess Lamia bint Majed Saud Al-Saud, secretary-general of Alwaleed Philanthropies, said: "We are proud to support the first young female Saudi Scouts to attend the
jamboree as part of our six-year commitment to World Scouting to increase the participation of girls and boys in community service in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East.
She was joined by Johan Padmos from Inverurie and Katie Hinton from Huntly at the
jamboree, which started on July 22 and involves 45,000 Scouts from around the world.
The
Jamboree is held in the Marysvale City Park, a great venue, just off the main road in Marysvale.
The
Jamboree will continue until the second of August, with participation of 45000 young people from all over the world representing more than 150 scouts association and bodies members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and is expected to be the largest global scouts
Jamboree since the first event by founder of the Scout movement Lord Baden-Powell in 1920.

The 2019
Jamboree, jointly hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, is set to be one of the biggest and most exciting yet.
