Indeed, much of the
Led Zeppelin III album was said to be penned at Bron-yr-Aur, the small cottage just outside the town of Machynlleth, to which the band decamped in 1970.
He goes on: "I came up here after Led Zeppelin II, which we recorded mostly on tour because we played so much in America at that time, with Maureen [his wife] and my daughter, Carmen, and a dog called Strider, and we rented a cottage that I used to go to when I was a kid, which is not far from here, and we began the writing of
Led Zeppelin III up there.
Quite how that unfolded remains a mystery, but the gig came alive thanks to a truly beautiful outing of
Led Zeppelin III ballad That's The Way.
After the lukewarm reception of their third album,
Led Zeppelin III, the band decided to release something anonymous, although four symbols on the inside sleeve represented each band member.

Each album includes the original LP, newly remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page, alongside a second disc of previously unreleased audio culled from the band members' vaults.
Indeed, much of the
Led Zeppelin III album - which gets a deluxe reissue next month- was written during the group's stay there.
Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II and
Led Zeppelin III will hit stores on June 3.
Their stay is reflected directly in two songs: the misspelt hoedown Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, that would appear almost immediately on the band's
Led Zeppelin III record, and Page's flowing solo instrumental Bron-Yr-Aur, that added an extra dimension to the alreadykaleidoscopic 1975 double album Physical Graffiti.
The effect is sensational: rootsy and bluesy, he combines
Led Zeppelin III and IV-era blues rock with a flavour of country.
Led Zeppelin III may be best known for the thunderclap howl of Immigrant Song but the album also melds acoustic folk and blues traditional.

Led Zeppelin III album cover.
Some have desperate to get a piece of the building where lead singer Robert Plant and lead guitarist Jimmy Page penned their third album
Led Zeppelin III back in 1970.
