The media was apprised about the steps by Sindh government for expanding the integration of
life skills-based education (LSBE) into the school curriculum in the province besides laying emphasis on other provinces to follow Sindh's initiatives to check child abuse.
AMMAN (Star)--The Ministry of Education, the Higher Council for Youth, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) signed a tripartite agreement on Tuesday whereby UNICEF will allocate $800,310 to contribute to the improvement of adolescent development, participation and leadership in Jordan.The UNICEF Adolescents program also supports efforts for the strengthening and implementation of the National Youth Strategy, the Jordanian National Plan of Action for Children( 2004-2013), and the Millennium Development Goals.This agreement will be a continuation of the process of integrating
life skills-based education into the Jordanian curricula.
They also agreed that
life skills-based education should be incorporated in the curriculum in all provinces following the model of Sindh government.
Development of referral system for victims of child abuse, publicize the available services, develop and implement a code of conduct for shelter homes, provision of
life skills-based education and training for survivors of child assault, publicize the available services, develop peer support groups to encourage children's participation in their recovery and re-integration and establishment of document centre on child abuse and exploitation.
