During World War II on December 07, 1941 Adolf Hitler, the German Chancellor issued 'Nacht und Nebel' (The Night of the Fog decree).
'Missing Persons' terminology is quintessential criminal act that was first adopted by Adolf Hitler in his Nacht und Nebel Erlass (Night and Fog Decree) of December 7, 1941.
These camps intentionally cut their inhabitants off from the outside world, erasing them as civil subjects when the abbreviation NN (Nacht und Nebel Erlass) was affixed to their jackets.
