Eight people from six different colleges were asked to participate based upon the recommendation of the Coordinator of Foundation Support and Alumni Affairs at the
North Carolina Community College System because of their work with a successful alumni program at their college.
The cooperative agreement stated the roles and responsibilities of the
North Carolina Community College System and the Department of Correction, yet this study identified there was confusion among the participants about roles and responsibilities.

North Carolina Community College System, the study used existing statewide databases to gather and analyze information about transfer students identified through their social security numbers.

North Carolina Community College System shares the credit.
Both students have earned President's List honors at VGCC, and Paul was VGCC's recipient of the
North Carolina Community College System's Academic Excellence Award for 2017.
In North Carolina, the initiative is partnering with the Code Green Initiative of the
North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), an effort to advance sustainability on NCCCS campuses and in surrounding communities.
For example, some of the data from the technological factor was gathered from the Academic and Student Service Division of the
North Carolina Community College System while some of the data from the core indicators of student success factor came from surveys done by each college using a standard set of questions.
In November, the
North Carolina Community College System released an audit which noted fiscal mismanagement, long-term vacancies in leadership positions, college president micromanagement, and that the trustees' executive committee has too much power.
