There are three main applications for electronic-grade
phosphine: it is used to manufacture LED lights (mostly the red and yellow portions of the spectrum), for certain types of high efficiency solar cells, and as a dopant for making semiconductors.
Despite heavy dependence on
phosphine and methyl bromide alternative strategies against massive use of these commercial fumigants need to adapt from in-vitro to in-vivo like use of plant extract, essential oils, leaf powders, seed oils, pathogenic fungi and other inorganic means like ozone, carbon dioxide and temperature (Betancur et al., 2010; Rajendran and Sriranjini, 2008; Zandi-Sohani and Ramezani, 2015).
Rehman Malik appreciated the Sindh Police for their professional and scientific investigation into the matter and disclosing about the most injurious chemical of
phosphine.
The DIG South pointed out that during the search of Qasr-i-Naz's stores, police investigators had found empty bottles of
phosphine and seized the same as evidence.
Kaiser added, "The phosphorus oxoacids detected in our experiments by combination of sophisticated analytics involving lasers, coupled to mass spectrometers along with gas chromatographs, might have also been formed within the ices of comets such as 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, which contains a phosphorus source believed to derive from
phosphine." Kaiser says these techniques can also be used to detect trace amounts of explosives and drugs.
Tris-4-chlorophenyl
phosphine was purchased from Alfa Aesar, USA.
In particular, silver(I) complexes containing mono- or bidentate
phosphine ligands and thiol or thione moieties have wellestablished applications in the form of anticancer [7, 8] and antimalarial [9, 10] agents.
Phosphine is the active pesticidal component which is highly toxic.
The

When it comes in contact with gastric hydrochloric acid or with atmospheric moisture, ALP releases a lethal
phosphine gas [4].
