But the first production I can remember was when the
Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera did a production of Oklahoma!
And what happened was that the Equity card that performers work so hard to get fell right into her hands, thanks to a summer job in the ensemble at the
Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. The next year she came to New York to visit a friend, and tagged along to an audition for ballet dancers for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.
Roberson has had a long relationship with this classic, having directed productions for the
Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Atlanta Theatre Under the Stars.
Our project was one of the reasons our school received the Charles Gray Award from the
Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for "Excellence in the Arts." Children's Art for Children's Literature will leave a lasting impact on our students, our school, our community, and our hearts.
