The two reactors at
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station have been idled since January 2012 when a leak of radioactive water from one of four steam generators led to the discovery of tubes that were vibrating against each other and wearing thin at an unusual rate.
Southern California Edison (SCE) revealed on Tuesday that it intends to file a funding authorisation request with the California Public Utilities Commission on Friday for ongoing seismic studies for the
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.
The company has received numerous orders, in addition to Belgium, for its RSGs: in the United States, two each for the
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 and two for the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station; and in France, six for EDF SA, an integrated energy provider.

Citizens Oversight, the group behind the lawsuit, is arguing the California Coastal Commission was wrong in approving a permit to store the spent fuel from the
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station on the northern edge of the plants property, adjacent to the Pacific Ocean.
