'Nazm' is an umbrella term in
Urdu that encompasses many genres and forms.
When people lament the demise of
Urdu, what they really mean is that the heavily Persianised
Urdu or high
Urdu, is dead.
The University has also planned to launch four-year BS-level degree in
Urdu from the coming year, this was stated at a academic meeting, presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof.
Syed Salman, cultural head of
Urdu Wing, said, 'Mushaira is uniting people through poetry; in fact, it is a poetic symposium which helps in advancing a multi-cultural and multiethnic image of
Urdu language.' He added, 'This year, we are introducing a new tradition of honouring the people who are working towards the development of
Urdu language, thereby inviting professor Shehpar Rasool and Qaiser Khalid (an IPS and presently IG Police at Mumbai) to the event.'

Urdu as the main medium of education across the country.He said that it will not only pave way for uniformity in the standard of instructions available to the students but will further enable the local youth to make optimum use of their capacities and express their creativity without any inhibitions.
