Why do you think the
binary number system was created?
Codes of this type were apparently first found by Diamond [2] and studied in depth by Brown and others [1,4], for the
binary number system with the idea of using them for detection and correction of transmission or hardware errors.
In this arrangement, while all numbers are initially expressed in the ones and zeros (bits) of the
binary number system, the results of a division are temporarily registered in a larger number system that also includes twos.
