Fnord is the name of this swansong release - it sounds like a Norwegian dog: actually it's a subliminal thought-control word in satirical 70s SF trilogy flluminatus.
PFNERD closely resembles the term "
fnord," a reference from the Illuminati Trilogy (Wilson 1977, 1980, 1981), with which most "nerds" are familiar.
Their final album, called
fnord, was recorded at Stiwdio Un in North Wales.
