For these measurements a thermoresistor ST1-19 was selected (Figure 3), representing a non-insulated monolithic device of a direct preheating with a negative temperature coefficient of resistance.
In the region around 25.5[degrees]C (298.66[degrees]K), the chuck reference temperature used in the tests, the coefficient of thermal conductivity for silicon has a negative temperature coefficient of about -0.001[degrees]C-mm/W/[degrees]C (Figure 4).
It has been well known that the crosslinking of polymer molecules is an efficient way to eliminate the NTC (negative temperature coefficient) effect, and to improve the PTC stability in carbon black-filled polymer system.
This type of dielectric is designated by the familiar codes NPO, COG and negative temperature coefficient series N80 to N4700.
Options include two programmable diagnostic set points; adjustability of slope or sensitivity; adjustable offset voltage; adjustable angle of rotation from 15 [degrees] to 110 [degrees]; and programmable negative temperature coefficient. This last option allows AEC to correct for the negative temperature coefficient of various magnetic materials.
Mechanical mastication has a negative temperature coefficient because the shear forces decrease with rising temperature, whereas thermo-oxidative depolymerization becomes more intensive as the temperature rises.
At high doses and temperatures the effect is dose dependent and results in a change from a positive to negative temperature coefficient (5).
