TOYOTA has announced that it is increasing the scrappage discount on its British-built Auris model by a third.
The company executive also said the hybrid version of its Auris hatchback would hit the west European market in the middle of next year.
Commentators hailed the move, noting that it comes after Japan's Toyota Motor said last week that it would start making a hybrid version of its Auris hatchback in Britain next year.
