Glyceryl tribenzoate and pentaerythrityl tetrabenzoate, and neopentyl glycol dibenzoate are typical of the benzoic acid esters. For example, in snapdragons, one particular methyltransferase enzyme adds a methyl group (a central carbon hub bonded to three hydrogen atoms) to benzoic acid, producing methyl benzoate. She is allergic to casein, MSG, benzoic acid, sulphites, and peanuts. |
