Correlations were also calculated for the five most abundant individual species (representing 85% of the total catch): Atlantic moonfish, northern puffer, crevalle jack (Caranx hippos), planehead filefish (Stephanolepis hispidus), and bigeye (Priacanthus arenatus).
These include Spanish mackerel, blackfin tuna, amberjack, black drum, gag grouper, wahoo, bluefish, gafftopsail catfish, crevalle jack, and ladyfish.
Abstract--The Caranx hippos species complex comprises three extant species: crevalle jack (Caranx hippos) (Linnaeus, 1766) from both the western and eastern Atlantic oceans; Pacific crevalle jack (Caranx caninus) Gtinther, 1868 from the eastern Pacific Ocean; and longfin crevalle jack (Caranx fischeri) new species, from the eastern Atlantic, including the Mediterranean Sea and Ascension Island.
