As the inventor of the Domain Naming System (DNS) and an active participant in the evolution of the Internet, Paul Mockapetris has applied his technical expertise to help several Internet businesses take flight. Respected technology pundit Bob Metcalfe recently acknowledged the critical need for a new Web addressing system, or naming layer, to reside atop the existing Domain Naming System (DNS) in the Internet architecture. HP also introduced new releases of its HP-UX Domain Naming System (DNS) software (DNS/BIND Version 8) and its Internet Protocol (IP) Developer's Kit (IPv6 Developer's Kit) for improving Internet-application performance on the HP-UX 11 operating environment. |
