An angina diary was kept for a week, recording episodes of angina (including length and severity) and number of treatments with glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) required. GISSI-3, entitled "Effects of lisinopril and transdermal glyceryl trinitrate singly and together on six-week mortality and vertricular function after acute myocardial infarction" and published in The Lancet on May 7, 1994, is the first trial to evaluate the short-term effects of administering lisinopril within the first 24 hours after a heart attack.
