A 32-year-old primigravida was admitted at 40 weeks' gestation for induction of labor following amniorrhexis. Unfortunately, as is nearly always the case, the study made no attempt to determine how many of the deaths were related to obstetric interventions such as the induction of labor, epidural block, and cesarean section. The Chinese Obstetrics & Gynecology Society (COGS) announced in August 2006 that it intended to list Propess as a recommended product for cervical dilation in new guidelines for induction of labor that will be published in 2007. |
