The current standard practice for diagnosis, management and monitoring of asthma patients are peak expiratory flow (PEF) measurements, pulmonary function tests and clinical symptoms.
And it was found that there was a statistically significant change in the number of lower respiratory tract symptoms for asthmatic patients compared with non-asthmatic patients, although no effect was observed on peak expiratory flow rates after cleaning between the groups.
The peak flow meter measures your child''s peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), or how much air flows out of her lungs as she breathes out forcefully.
