THE RESPIRATORY THERAPY PROGRAM AT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY (CCAC) IS THE RESULT OF A UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP between the college and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
Although most respiratory therapists work in hospitals, an increasingly large number of them are employed by home care agencies, nursing homes, and respiratory therapy clinics.
Cross, head of the college's Respiratory Therapy program since 1999--is devoting the academic year to groundbreaking work in medical simulation technology, developing the first-ever simulator scenarios in respiratory therapy.
