All four skua species were seen along the coast, including Pomarines at Point of Ayr and Bardsey, and long-tailed skua from Anglesey's Bull Bay.
It was a wonderful natural environment: I remember the great skua bombing me on Foula, killer whales leaping out of the sea ahead of the boat out of Scalloway, and friendly seals watching me with interest as I swam at Gulberwick.
