Exhaust ventilation systems serving chipping and grinding operations with portable tools only offer effective protection when the grinding swarf is directed at the exhaust hood opening. These materials, known in the steel industry as electric arc furnace dust, mill scale and swarf, have been mixed with carbon palletized and pre-reduced in a rotary hearth furnace. The tightly controlled, consistent application of Make and Size adhesives results in reduced swarf loading between the abrasive grains. |
