Today Is My Day (2003) shows pure, imaginative wish-fulfillment for Tala, one harried little girl. The Textile Association of Los Angeles named Barry Maiman member of the year and Trina Turk was honored as a friend of TALA. Artistic director Peter Martins' new ballet Tala Gaisma, meaning "Distant Light" in Latvian and taken from the title of Peteris Vasks' score, was created for Jock Soto, Darci Kistler, Sofiane Sylve, and Miranda Weese. |
