The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics, Unique Identification (UID) Program Office, has sponsored two UID Forums in 2006--Seattle, Wash. The data matrix coding, which government agencies call UID for unique edientification and are beginning to require for all their components, can be read even after 22% of the data cells are damaged. Future columns will provide information regarding new technologies that assist both students and faculty in making classroom materials more accessible, and will also discuss the implementation of UID in specific disciplines. |
