Upstage, the original cast sat at an even longer table having a Ghekhovian conversation about injury, food, and the need for a new window to let in more light. A couple of former Southern California high school standouts, Cynthia Barboza (Long Beach Wilson) and Jessica Fishburn (Brentwood), used their homecoming to upstage USC (17-1, 6-1 in Pac-10) in front of an estimated crowd of 5,000, which packed the lower section of the 10,258-seat facility. We did not want to drop a bulky, enclosed object onto that space--nor did we want to do anything that would upstage Alumni Memorial Hall, which holds so much meaning for the University community. |
