When the throughputs of IEEE
802.11a and TTBS were compared in figure 13a their average values were found to be 14.25 and 18.08Mbps respectively.
The 802.11b networks operate in the 2.4-GHz industrial-scientific-medical (ISM) band and
802.11a in the less heavily occupied 5-GHz band.
802.11g has data rates higher than 802.11b, but similar to
802.11a.
WPA is designed to secure all versions of 802.11 devices, including 802.11b,
802.11a, and 802.11g, multi-band and multi-mode.
Last--but certainly not least--with the impending arrival of new wireless standards
802.11a and 802.11g, wireless technology will get faster and more secure, making even the harshest skeptics curious.
The
802.11a and 802.11g specifications both have maximum speeds of 54Mbps.
The system operates over 1XRTT and GPRS Internet cellular broadband standards and over
802.11a or 802.11b wireless data transmission standards.
First of all, recognize that there are two 802.11 specifications:
802.11a and 802.llb.
