Now an estimated 12.5 tons of bighead and silver carp are caught per day through hoop netting and electrofishing, says the Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee (ACRCC), a consortium of local, state and federal government agencies.
The 82-page "Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework," from the ACRCC, adds this: "Asian carp are the most recent, but certainly not the last aggressive invasive species to threaten" the waterways.
