Representatives from the African Union (AU) Commission, the African Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT
), the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) and the Sahel Fusion and Liaison Unit (UFL) also participated in the Workshop along with diplomatic missions of AU Member States and international partners in Tripoli who attended as observers.
Apart from the fact that the implementation mechanisms provided by the Pact are also available in a counter-terrorism role, amongst others, military operations decided by the Peace and Security Council (of the AU), including the use of the African Standby Force, provision is also made for the establishment of The African Centre for Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT
) (Art 10 and 11).
