As per the MoU, FICCI and ADPC will cooperate on a range of issues, including promotion of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in the private sector along with development and sharing of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) technical expertise through mutually identified means and modalities.
The agreement, which is supervised by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, was signed by Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and chairman of the Follow-Up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President, and Dr Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and chairman of ADPC, reported Emirates news agency Wam.
Shaikh Mohammad was also updated on plans being implemented to enhance maritime trade, as well as developing the capabilities of ADPC employees through various training programmes.
ADPC was created in 2006 to restructure Abu Dhabi's ports, replacing the Abu Dhabi Seaports Authority.

ADPC used the tour as a chance to discuss the specific needs of the cruise lines and their passengers with the representatives who welcomed the island stopover and gave valuable feedback for the upcoming development stages.
The award recognised ADPC's efforts to build the knowledge and skills of its employees and to provide structured meaningful career development, supporting the UAE's objective of empowering Emirati talent, said a statement.
It also managed to attract three major shipping lines making it a total of 20 shipping lines being currently served, Adpc said.
Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, ADPC said: "This is the first time ADPC has promoted Cruise Abu Dhabi at an international event, all of the top cruise lines will be represented, along with thousands of people from the wider travel industry.

On the sidelines of the World Port and Trade Summit 2013, ADPC said it envisaged a growth in marine and water club activities in the area, once the first phase of the Abu Dhabi project is completed in 2014.
Students from Higher Colleges of Technology toured Khalifa Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) and met Emirati employees at ADPC and Kizad to discuss career development opportunities for UAE nationals at ADPC.
