AHEC, a non-profit organization headquartered in Northern Nevada, offers healthcare professionals courses to maintain and/or upgrade their certifications and licensure, as well as healthcare career exploration courses for AHEC's youth initiatives.

Arup, which is widely known as the creative force at the heart of many of the world's most promising projects in the built environment, provided structural engineering from concept stage to construction for 'Timber Wave,' which was made from 20 m3 of 1i thick American red oak boards donated by several members of AHEC. The collaboration has resulted in a stunning, self-supporting 12m three-dimensional latticework spiral, built from oil-treated American red oak.
