The undergraduate focus of UofL is also changing, with more baccalaureate degrees and fewer subbaccalaureate degrees and credentials; (4) KCTCS continues to pursue both academic and workforce missions with tremendous growth in certificates, 125 percent in five years, as well as a 43 percent increase in associate degrees awarded in the spring; (5) The AIKCU independent colleges and universities continue to keep pace with the publics in baccalaureate degree growth.
The study concentrated on opportunities for the Commonwealth of Kentucky to partner with and better use the states network of 19 nonprofit regionally accredited colleges and universities that are members of the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities (AIKCU) , opportunities for these institutions to strengthen their programs and services, and opportunities to strengthen and support the AIKCU.
