To identify groundwater seepage areas, the research team looks at soil `dielectric property' information derived from the AIRSAR data.
The information is collected as the DC-8 aircraft flies over target terrain, while the AIRSAR instrument transmits continuous pulses of microwave energy onto the earth's surface.

coverage, is required to understand the nature and overall operation of the network.
