AITDF also stated, "It is high time that Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as well as Ministry of Corporate Affairs should refer the tyre pricing issue to the Tariff Commission of India and also refer the restrictive trade practices, indulged into by domestic tyre majors in collective manner, to the Competition Commission of India (CCI)."
AITDF also claims that the opening up of truck / bus radial tyre import in the last week of May 2010 has yet to materialize into practical reality as despatches from overseas producers like China PR, South Korea or Thailand are expected to reach India only in the second half of July 2010.
The All India Tyre Dealers' Federation (AITDF) also urges upon the Centre Government that Ministry of Commerce and Industry should immediately intervene to help the Kerala Government in resolving the dispute between Apollo Tyre Management and Labour Union in its Perambra Plant (Kerala) to save the market from continues scarcity of tyres and to protect the road transport industry from tyre scarcity and spiraling tyre prices.
