Through the AMEREF program and the Department of Education, the RDC is able to train teachers across the state on how educators can effectively use the Alaska Resources Kit.
Beyond the AMEREF program, the RDC provides a variety of educational forums throughout the year.
The Resource Development Council works to educate the public on natural resource issues through a separate nonprofit, the Alaska Minerals and Energy Resource Education Fund, or AMEREF
. In partnership with the Alaska Board of Education, AMEREF
provides students in kindergarten through 12th grade with an Alaska-specific curriculum designed to help them make informed decisions about resource use and land issues.
