(23) In this study, compared with those in the model group, the serum TNF-[alpha], IL-1[beta] and IL-2 levels in the 40 mg/kg AsIV group were significantly decreased.
(25) In this study, after treatment, the serum IgA and IgG levels in the 20 and 40 mg/kg AsIV groups were significantly lower than those in the model group.
In conclusion, AsIV can alleviate inflammation and enhance immunity in rats with experimental periodontitis.
Second, there may be other mechanisms underlying how AsIV alleviates periodontitis in rats.
