The decisions follow comprehensive compliance assessments, including multiple site visits by ASQA officers.
"The decision to reject a training organisation's registration is not one we take lightly but the interests of students and the integrity of training standards across the VET sector have to be upheld," said ASQA Chief Commissioner Chris Robinson.
Further details of ASQA's decision can be found on their website.
"The institutions have the right to have ASQA's decision reviewed which may delay or change the decision," added Mr.
We are particularly keen to hear from stakeholders how ASQAs
recommendations may benefit industry, training providers and students.
Over the last 12 months ASQA has implemented its enhanced online service portal asqanet as well as continued the evolution of its risk-based approach to regulation that places a greater emphasis on the learner experience instead of RTOs policies and processes, she said.
When ASQA was first established it was envisaged that, over time, it would become a full cost recovery agency meaning that it would be completely funded from the fees and charges it collected, Minister Andrews said.
In October 2014 as part of a wider suite of regulatory reforms, the Coalition Government announced that ASQA would only be required to cost recover approximately 50 per cent of its costs.
This is why we have established the office of the Queensland Training Ombudsman and will continue to work closely with ASQA
to support any Queenslanders impacted by the actions of any organisations not upholding these standards.
Minister Ryan said Mr Paterson has extensive experience across government and industry, which will be invaluable in his work of placing ASQA at the forefront of quality assurance across vocational education and training (VET).
With a distinguished career in the public service, including experience leading government departments at both the state and Commonwealth level, Mr Paterson is well placed to ensure ASQA continues and strengthens its work as the national vocational education and training regulator, Minister Ryan said.
I am also pleased to announce the current Chief Commissioner, Chris Robinson, will serve a three month extension to his time at ASQA, finishing his role in December 2016.
