Mrs Averns decided to take up the claims after his death after alleging he had been badly treated.
The firm also alleged that Mr Averns had decided to concentrate on fighting his cancer rather than make tribunal claims against his former employers.
Mr Christopher Andrews, representing Mrs Averns, alleged Stagecoach told Mr Averns he should no longer work with the public because of his illness.
Mrs Averns decided to take up his claims following his death but the firm opposed them because they had been made more than three months after his dismissal, breaking the tribunal deadline.
At the hearing in September Christopher Andrews, representing Mrs Averns, alleged that Stagecoach had told Mr Averns he could no longer work with the public because of his illness.
