The development of AIDSLINE from the National Library of Medicine in 1988 provided a bibliographic database that brought together citations from multiple disciplines and databases such as BIOETHICSLINE, POPLINE, CATLINE, AVLINE
, and others (DuPont & Dutcher, 1990).
References found in AIDSLINE are taken from a variety of National Library of Medicine databases, including MEDLINE, Health Planning and Administration (HEALTH), CANCERLIT, CATLINE, and AVLINE
But many searchers have not yet tried other MEDLARS databases such as AIDSLINE (bibliographic references), DIRLINE (Directory of Information Resources), AVLINE
(audiovisuals), HISTLINE (history of medicine), or SDILINE (current months input into MEDLINE).
