at Boston College and Stonehill College; a solo recital of music by Sidney Lanier for Historic Macon (GA), performed on a period flute by illustrious New York maker Alfred G.
With the Aardvark Jazz Orchestra
, Bloom performed new works by music director Mark Harvey, including Bailout Blues, while also saluting the 110th birthday of Duke Ellington with classics and rarities by the Maestro.
Also in the Fall of 2008, Bloom toured the Southeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast with diverse ensembles including Ensemble Chaconne, The Olmsted Ensemble, The Aardvark Jazz Orchestra
(36th season), the Duo "2" with pianist Mary Jane Rupert (featuring Bloom's transcription for alto flute of Marion Bauer's viola sonata), and mezzo-soprano D'Anna Fortunato and pianist Mary Jane Rupert in a program that included works by American composers Daniel Pinkham, George Gershwin, and Elizabeth Vercoe.
