Achieving the Dream leads a growing network of community colleges across America committed to helping their students, particularly low-income students and students of color achieve their goals for academic success, personal growth and economic opportunity.
The research comes from Achieving the Dream's ongoing OER Degree Initiative, a partnership with 38 community colleges in 13 states that has created nearly 3,000 sections of 385 OER courses since fall 2016.
Carol Lincoln, the senior vice president of Achieving the Dream, noted that the gains represent hundreds of students who are now earning degrees.

Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national nonprofit organization that helps community college students succeed, announced that Capital Community College in Connecticut is one of seven community colleges in the country who have emerged as leaders in the national student completion movement.
The organizations that prepared this report, Achieving the Dream and the Aspen Institute, work with many institutions that are in fact demonstrably improving student success.
Perhaps the most important driver of Michigan's commitment to student success has been Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit leading the nation's most comprehensive nongovernmental reform network for student success in higher education history.
The Austin Community College District announced its inclusion in the national student success initiative known as "Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count." Originally developed by the Lumina Foundation for Education to help more community college students succeed, Austin Community College's participation is funded by a grant from the Greater Texas Foundation--which has awarded the college an $85,000 grant for the first year and $65,000 for the second year of the initiative.
"Engaged Partners" focuses on the decisions made by the creators of the Achieving the Dream initiative to build a broad and diverse range of stakeholders--including funders--who would take ownership of the problem of poor student success rates in community colleges.
