The SiW3500 is said to help speed time to market and implements new features found in Bluetooth Specification Version 1.2, including fast connecting times, adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) for improved coexistence of Bluetooth with other 2.4 GHz devices and extended SCO for improved voice transmissions.
Adaptive frequency hopping (AFH), a Bluetooth 1.2 feature that Broadcom has already introduced in its products, can be used to mitigate radio interference in this common frequency, minimizing the possibility of performance degradation.
Also included in the devices is Adaptive Frequency Hopping software that eliminates interference between Bluetooth devices and other wireless networks.
Also included in the new headset is Adaptive Frequency Hopping technology which minimises interference between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios when they are in operation in the same environment.
