The exclusion criteria were patients who also needed an aorto-coronary bypass
or mitral surgery; patients who refused to be included in this study.
Heart patient Aquilino underwent a six-hour aorto-coronary bypass
grafting, which was performed by doctors from the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) and University of Santo Tomas Hospital (USTH).
An in-situ right IMA can be used by anastomosing it with the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) and its diagonal branch along the front of the ascending aorta or to the obtuse marginal artery through the transverse sinus.17 A free right IMA, on the other hand can be used as a composite graft or aorto-coronary bypass
graft, allowing for multiple sequential anastomoses.
