To better understand and promote access to justice in Indonesia, the BAPPENAS
Directorate of Law and Human Rights and UNDP jointly initiated, in 2004, an extensive assessment of access to justice for 'the most disadvantaged populations in five provinces' (UNDP 2007:ii).
Provision of advisory services to BAPPENAS
on developing a strategy for more adequate inclusion of people with disabilities in social protection schemes.
Approach: On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, GIZ is supporting the Indonesian National Planning and Development Agency, BAPPENAS
At the end of the project, BAPPENAS
and UNDP aim to see more Indonesians, particularly women and vulnerable groups as indigenous and forest-dependant communities have better access to high quality and effective dispute resolution and grievance handling mechanisms through state as well as non-state mechanisms.
The MoE in cooperation with BAPPENAS
and LIPI will share responsibility to lead implementation of project activities and achievement of all project outputs.
