Radar imagery provided by the assets discussed above is 'knitted' together using Raytheon's Battle Command System-Fixed (BCS-F); a suite of hardware and software which produces the RAP, and allows the management of aircraft interceptions.
Following the Al Qaeda attacks on New York and Washington DC on 11 September 2001, the BCS-F was upgraded to federate additional radar imagery from military and civilian air traffic management radars to ensure that it could adequately detect internal potential air threats, beyond the gaze of the radars populating the NWS and JSS (see above).
Alongside its leadership of the BCS-F enhancements for NORAD (see above), TRS is the prime contractor for the Air Command and Control System (ACCS) which has developed a common, scalable software and hardware architecture intended to replace several disparate Integrated Air Defence Systems (IADS) used across NATO's European membership.
