The research methodology involved case studies exemplifying findings and the comparative analysis derived from an environmental study of the BCSM involving two similar construction sites: a temporary construction site in the heart of Hong Kong and the permanent construction site of Ecopark, Ecological City (Ecocity), Hanoi, Vietnam.
In certain instances, the application of the BCSM has combined the natural and artificial presence of nature in a harmonious context that has revitalised and improved the interface of construction to the benefit of both the employees and society and all stakeholders in the project (Miyake, 2003).
An analysis of the three photos (Photo 1, 2 and 3) highlights notable observations because of the number of BCSM issues involved: 'Green screening' fabric, which is arguably a form of greening as shown in photos 1, 2 and 3.
This is an interesting and exciting concept of BCSM as the balance and order of the elevation and massing of forms as seen from the approach view is soothing and in harmony with the hue and strength of the colour scheme (Photos 1, 2 and 3).
The two construction sites in the heart of Hong Kong and Ecopark; employed the BCSM initiative from different categories and magnitude to achieve the same beneficial effect.
The management solution included the BCSM strategy as shown in Photos 7, 8 and 9 as follows: Shade nets were spread between two site office containers and between two existing trees retained by Bashewa.
Table 2 indicates the cost effectiveness of the functional values of the BCSM strategy, and Table 3, Nature psychophysiology test--which established the social, psychological, and physiological impact of the natural values of the BCSM.
Table 3 indicates the degree of concurrence with respect to the benefit of the nature based connection / biophilic experience of the BCSM element of greening.
In corroboration with the findings of the literature survey, management reports, the interviews and observations of the workforce, the findings indicate that the BCSM single element of study was effective in achieving the following the physical and social values which impacted on the enhanced performance of the workers relative to the BCSM element of greening between a strongly to a moderate extent.
This is modelled on the principle of the inter-nurture derived from the context, culture and content of nature such as is contained in the BCSM and as validated in the extract from the research findings.
