The only box-fed lever action you'll find in gun racks is Browning's BLR. It came along in 1969, though prototypes were assembled in the U.S.
Even a l/2"-thick rubber buttpad such as found on their BLRs, would have been better.
These rifles included Remington 700s, Remington 600s, Browning BLRs and Winchester Model 100s.
That is precisely what I've come to expect from BLRs over the years.
